4 rescued as fire erupts in Noida condo penthouse

Noida: A family of four was rescued after a massive fire broke out in a duplex penthouse on the 17th and 18th floor of Omaxe Forest Spa in Sector 93B on Monday evening.
No casualties were reported, fire officials said. They are investigating the cause of the fire.
AOA president of the condominium Ajay Goel said a short circuit triggered the blaze. “The sprinklers were activated immediately and the fire was controlled within 10-15 minutes before it could spread to the bedrooms,” he said.
An official statement issued by chief fire officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey said the fire broke out in a small closed room on the 17th floor around 8.32 pm.
“A fire service unit was dispatched and the blaze was extinguished using one firefighting vehicle. There was no loss of life. No one was trapped,” he said.
Several residents, who were out on evening walks, shared videos of the smoke billowing out and the fire.
