Fire in Surya Nepal godown guts cigarettes worth millions

POKHARA: Cigarettes worth millions were gutted when a tobacco godown of Surya Nepal in Lekhnath-5, Kaski, caught fire in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The fire erupted at around 2 am due to electric short-circuit. Police and locals were able to contain the fire only at around 10:30 am today. Packed cigarettes worth over Rs 10 million that stored at the godown were destroyed by the fire.
We are yet to come up with the exact amount of loss incurred by the fire, said Bidur Adhikari, Trade Marketing Executive Manager of Surya Nepal.
Investigation is underway, DSP Rajesh Nath Bastola said.
