Electrician missing, P500M destroyed in Lanao del Norte factory fire

Around P500 million in property was destroyed by a fire that razed a plywood factory in Kolambugan town, Lanao del Norte Thursday evening, while an electrician who worked at the factory was said to be missing.
The plant contained flammable light materials and sawdust, GMA Northern Mindanao’s Jeik Compo reported.
The fire started about 6 p.m., with the Bureau of Fire Protection immediately raising the alarm level to Task Force Alpha.
Lanao del Norte provincial fire marshal Inspector Rommel Villafuerte said that seven fire trucks from neighboring towns arrived to help fight the fire.
The fire was placed under control at 10 p.m., and declared out at 4 a.m. Friday.
“Ang cost [ng] damage [ay] P500 million as declared by the manager,” Villafuerte said
Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, emergency services are searching for the missing person, electrician Loloy Urziga. He was last was last seen by co-workers before the fire started. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
