Fire razes 101 houses, leaves P2M damages

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Fire gutted 101 houses and left an estimated damage of P2 million（45,892$：1PHP=0.022946USD,14/09/08 rate） at Purok Katilingban 1 in Barangay 39, this city, Tuesday afternoon.
The city’s Bureau of Fire Protection said that 124 affected families or 500 individuals were forced to evacuate to the covered court of the barangay.
The BFP said that the fire, which started at around 12:45 p.m. and was put off at 1:55 p.m., originated from the residence of Omy and Butchoy Pito. There were no reported injuries or casualties during the incident.
Reports said that there was a delay in the response of the firefighters due to the narrow passageway from the main road to the fire scene. — (FREEMAN)
