Eldery woman dies in Ang Thong fire

An 80-year-old woman was found dead in a house which was burnt down in a fire that broke out early on Sunday in Muang district of Ang Thong province, police said.
Pol Lt Chakri Phan-ed, the duty officer at Muang district police station, said he was informed of the fire that occurred at about 5am at a two-storey wooden house in the Online community in tambon Ban Ith.
Four fire engines rushed to the scene. The fire was brought under control in one hour.
The firefighters found the charred body of the woman on the ground flood. She was identified as Neoy Mongkol, 80.
Neighbours said the woman had lived alone in the house since her husband died and their children moved out to be with their own families.
Police were investigating. It was initially believed the fire was caused by a short-circuit.
