Fire broke out in Geylang shophouse; no one injured Updated: 2014-10-29-22:54
SINGAPORE – A fire broke out in a shophouse along Geylang Lorong 8 on Wednesday evening.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at 6.37pm, and deployed three fire engines, two Red Rhinos, two fire bikes and one support vehicle to the scene. The fire was put out within 15 minutes using two water jets.
The six people in the shophouse had evacuated before SCDF officers arrived and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, said SCDF.
