Fires burn down property worth Rs 2.8 million

BIRATNAGAR: Properties worth Rs 2.8 million were destroyed in separate fire incidents in Sunsari and Saptari districts last night.
A local industry caught fire in Sunsari, whereas a cowshed was destroyed in Saptari.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, the fire that broke out due to a short circuit at the Om Private Industries at Sonapur-3, Sunsari has burnt down raw and readymade materials worth Rs 2.5 million.
Similarly, a fire that broke out accidentally in the cowshed of Rambhuwan Das and Bhausahi Das of Shambhunath-7, Sapatari yesterday night, has damaged properties worth Rs 300,000.
The fires were doused by locals with the help of police and fire brigade.
