Ferry Catches Fire At Pangkor Jetty

IPOH, Nov 14 (Bernama) — A passenger ferry servicing Pulau Pangkor and Lumut caught fire while docked at the Pangkor Jetty today.
However, no casualties were reported.
Perak Fire and Rescue director, Yahya Madis said they were alerted about the incident at 2.46 pm.
“No passengers were on board at the time,” he told Bernama.
He said the ferry suffered 60 per cent damage, encompassing the bridge, seats in the forward and hull.
He added that firefighters used foam to fight the blaze and managed to extinguish the flames at 4.35 pm.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
