An elderly man died in a fire that broke out near the crowded communities of Klong Toey on Sunday evening.
The fire broke out in Soi Sri Sakkarin, opposite the office of Post Publishing and the Bangkok Post and close to several massive Shell storage tanks on Na Ranong Road. Three houses were damaged in the blaze that was brought under control in half an hour.
After the fire was put out rescuers found the body of a paralyzed man in his 70s on the second floor of one of the houses. Another person reportedly sustained non-life threatening injuries. Details of the dead and the injured are not immediately available.
Police are now surveying damage and investigating the cause of the fire.
