SINGAPORE – A fire involving three vehicles broke out at a heavy vehicle carpark at West Coast Highway, West Coast Link, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said no one was injured. Two fire engines and two fire bikes were deployed and the fire was extinguished using two water jets, said SCDF.

Mr Geoffrey Delhaye, 29, who lives at a condominium in West Coast Walk, said he saw a thick, dark mass of smoke rising from the affected area at around 2.10pm, and shortly after, the arrival of the fire engines and fire bikes.

“I thought it might have been an accident and that I was lucky that I was not involved,” said Mr Delhaye who works in the sales and marketing line.

He had just returned home from a meeting when he spotted the fire from his balcony. He said the smoke had turned white and appeared much lighter by 2.30pm.

The SCDF said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
