Fire Destroys Two Factories, Squatter Houses In Kepayan

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 21 (Bernama) — Two factories and three squatter houses nearby were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Simpur, Kepayan early Sunday.
A spokesman at the State Fire and Rescue Department said five engines from the Kota Kinabalu and Jalan Lintas stations with 28 firemen rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 3.42 am.
There was no report of a casualty, he said when contacted by BERNAMA.
He said the department was investigating the cause of the fire and losses incurred in the incident.
