Fire guts eight plastic factories in Dhaka

A fire has gutted at least eight small plastic factories in Dhaka’s Islampur, police say.
Fire Service said the fire started just before 10pm on Thursday at Baidyapatti.
Five firefighting units doused the flames, control-room officer Farhaduzzaman said.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Police said no casualty had been reported.
Chawkbazar police OC Azizul Haq said the flames were brought under control within half an hour.
“Eight small tin-shed plastic factories have been destroyed,” he said.
