Four-year old dies in Dhaka slum fire

A devastating fire at a slum in the capital Dhaka has killed a four-year old girl.
Fire Service’s Deputy Director Zahirul Islama said that the body was recovered from the gutted shanties around 12:45pm on Sunday.
The fire in a slum at the city’s Mohammadpur area broke out around 8:30 am. Fire fighters tamed the flames around an hour later.
bdnews24.com Correspondent Gulam Mujtaba Dhruba reported from the scene that most of the houses at the slum were completely burnt.
Fire service officials are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire or the exact extent of the damage so far.
