Fire Destroys Two Warehouses To Store Wood In Tawau

TAWAU, Jan 26 (Bernama) — Two warehouses used to store wood at the Tanjung Batu Timber Industrial Complex here were destroyed in a pre-dawn fire today.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Razali Awang Ahmad said no one was injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire had yet to be determined, he said, adding that damage was estimated at RM950,000.
Mohd Razali said the station was alerted to the fire at 4.12 am and 16 firemen were rushed there in three trucks.
“We were assisted by 15 personnel of the Department of Civil Defence and four police personnel.
“We brought the fire under control at 4.40 am,” he said when met at the location of the fire.
