Fire guts bogie at Kamalapur

Fire gutted a bogie of the Parabat Express at the Kamalapur Railway Station in capital Dhaka on Tuesday.
Quoting railway officials, fire-fighters said the blaze had caused a damage of nearly Tk 500,000.
The carriage had been kept at the station for cleaning when the blazes occurred around 4pm.
Fire Service control room officer Brajen Kumar Sarkar said four fire-fighting units managed to put out the flames within an hour.
There were no casualties, he said, adding that the extent of damage was worth around Tk 500,000.
The official, however, could not say how the fire started.
Railway Ministry Information Officer Shariful Islam said four officers of Railway Security Force had been suspended over the incident.
He said Railway Minister Mazibul Haque had visited the scene and ordered transfers of the force’s Commandant Zahirul Islam and Assistant Commandant Abdul Kuddus.
Three committees were also formed to look into the fire breakout, he said, adding that the probe teams had been directed to submit their findings within three days.
