A cruise ship carrying 25 people, including 16 foreign tourists, suddenly caught fire on Tuesday evening in Ha Long Bay in the northern Quang Ninh province.
The fire broke out at about 8pm, while the ship lay anchored in the bay for an overnight stay.
On seeing the fire, the crew immediately appealed for urgent assistance from the local authorities, quickly shifted all passengers to the Titov Islet and then moved all people and assets ashore safely.
At the time of the fire, there were seven crew members, a tourist guide, a catering attendant and 16 foreign tourists on board.
No human casualties were reported.
The 18-bed QN2566 ship is owned by the Ha Long Bien Ngoc Company Ltd. The ship had just resumed operations after undergoing repairs.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
