Massive fire at Manahara shoe factory

KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out at a shoe factory in Kageshwori Manahara on the outskirts of Kathmandu on Saturday.
Police estimated that property worth Rs 16.45 million was destroyed when the Namaste Shoe Factory in Kageshwori Manahara Municipality-13 caught fire yesterday.
Electric short circuit caused the inferno, according to police.
In another case, a fire that broke out at a furniture factory gutted property worth Rs 200,000 in Prayagpokhari-6 of Lalitpur.
The factory owned by Ramesh Man Shrestha had caught fire yesterday, destroying beds, cupboards and clothes.
Fire engines assisted by locals had doused the fires.
Police are investigating into both cases.
