A fire broke out on Monday in a natural gas pipeline that ferries gas from Reliance Industries’ eastern offshore KG-D6 field in Telangana.
No loss of life or injury has been reported. The fire was noticed early morning in a section of the pipeline near Zaheerabad in remote Telangana due to gas leak in the Main Line Valve, RGTIL, the company that operates the pipeline, said.
“There is no loss of life or injuries,” it said. “Our experts have immediately reached the War Room as well as the site of fire. The fire is being controlled and contained by safely evacuating and cordoning off that section of pipeline.
“It might take few hours to evacuate and extinguish the fire,” the company said, adding gas supplies to consumers may remain affected for 24 hours.
