Fire Destroys 80 Houses In Sentosa Dua Slum Area

TAWAU, March 9 (Bernama) — Fire destroyed about 80 houses in Sentosa Dua slum area at 3.08 pm today.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Department operation chief Faisal Ahmad said three fire engines with 24 firemen managed to control the fire at 4.15 pm.
He said the firemen were aided by officers from the Civil Defence Department, Welfare Department and volunteer firemen.
The ministry was investigating the cause of the fire. No casualties were reported.
Tawau Municipal Council president Datuk Ismail Mayakub who was at the scene said all the fire victims will be temporarily placed in the community hall.
