Parsa fire renders 8 families homeless

BIRGUNJ: Eight families were rendered homeless when a human settlement caught fire in Prasaunibhatha village of Parsa on Sunday.
Five huts which were housing the families were destroyed in the incident whereas a horse and four goats also died.
Police said families of Daroga Das Tatwa, Tapasi Das Tatwa, Ujir Alam, Makib Raut Gaddi and Kari Raut Gaddi were rendered homeless after the fire.
ASI Bishnu Phuyal of Pokhariya Area Police Post said police are still calculating details of the loss. He estimated that the loss could amount to more than Rs 1 million.
He added that fire made by children near the house of Daroga Das had sparked the blaze.
The fire that began at around 11 am was contained by two fire brigades assisted by locals and security personnel by 1 pm.
