A fire destroyed eight homes and damaged two others in a small alley on Ben Van Don Street in Ward 1 of HCM City’s District 4 yesterday morning. Police said the fire broke out at 11:15 a.m. in a closed house owned by Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet, and was extinguished in half an hour. No deaths were reported, but two firemen suffered minor injuries.
