Sunsari fire destroys 18 houses

INARUWA: A massive fire broke out in Bhokraha VDC-1 of Sunsari district on Tuesday midnight.
According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, a total of 18 houses of six families were destroyed by the fire that started from a cowshed of a local Ilias Mansuri.
Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Ram Sharma, said the fire gutted property worth around Rs five million including food stuffs, clothes, utensils, among other goods.
The fire destroyed two houses and a cowshed each of Ilias, Istam Mansuri, Ajat Mansuri, among others, said police.
Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force personnel and locals doused the fire with the help of a fire engine brought from Inaruwa Municipality. It took three hours to extinguish the fire. Investigation is underway, added police.
