Saptari fire burns man to death‚ guts 79 houses

RAJBIRAJ: A man died whereas 79 houses were gutted as a human settlement caught fire in Kanchanrup of Saptari on Thursday.
Ram Chalitar Sardar (65) died as his residence among 79 houses caught fire in Pademaratole, Kanchanrup Municipality-6 of the district this afternoon.
DSP Narayan Prasad Timariya of District Police Office (DPO) said 33 families were rendered homeless after the fire.
The number of victims may increase as police are yet to collect details of the losses, he said.
Fire brigades from Itahari and Inaruwa of Sunsari and Rajbiraj of Saptari are dousing the fire.
The fire started at local Jhameli Sardar’s house had extended to other buildings of the locality, according to police.
