Fire in Chittagong leaves one dead

A fire originating from a mosquito-repellent coil has left one dead at the port city’s Bakolia area.
At least 60 shanties were burnt in the fire, which broke out around 12:30am on Monday, said Chittagong Fire Service Control Room’s official Prahlad Singh.
The deceased, Noor Mohammad, 55, was a tenant at one of the houses gutted in the fire.
The fire began in the house and spread to others. Six fire-fighting units put out the flames around 3am, said Singh.
