Textile mill compressor explosion kills two at Dhaka’s Shyampur

Two people have been killed and as many injured when a compressor in a textile mill exploded at Dhaka’s Kadamtoli.
Supervisor of the Evergreen Textile Mill at Shyampur, Md Humayun said the blast occurred around 9:15pm on Friday.
He said four workers were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with wounds.
Doctors declared Delwar Hossain and Shohag Hossain dead at the hospital, said DMCH police outpost’s Assistant Sub-Inspector Sentu Chandra Das.
He said their bodies were kept at the morgue.
The two other injured, Zillur Rahman and ‘Musa’, were undergoing treatment, he added.
Fire Service control room official Md Enayet Hossain said they did not receive news of fire. But an unit was sent to investigate, he added.
