SEMENYIH, April 4 (Bernama) — All six bodies of a helicopter crash here Saturday have been found, said Selangor Fire and Rescue director Othman Abdullah.
However, their identities have not been confirmed at the moment.
Efforts are being made to retrieve the bodies from the crash site in a rubber estate and the operation was expected to be completed soon.
Initial reports showed a VIP was among the six victims.
The accident occurred this evening and a resident claimed he saw a helicopter explode in mid-air before crashing and exploding one more time in a rubber estate in Jalan Sungai Lalang, Kampung Pasir Baru, here.
Roslan Harun, 54, a security guard at a store near the incident site said the crash took place in heavy rain.
“It exploded and shattered into pieces not far from ground, the helicopter rotor blades and tail were all over the place,” he told Bernama when met at the crash scene.
Roslan who was resting at home about one kilometre from the helicopter crash site said he attempted to enter the area but decided to call the Fire and Rescue Department instead.
According to him, the accident scene was located about 5 km in Kampung Sungai Pening, about 13 km from this town.
“To get to the actual helicopter crash site, we have to enter 2 km into the rubber estate,” he said.
