Forest fires at Kg Katok ‘A’

The Fire and Rescue Department at the scene to control the forest fires.
A MAJOR forest fire occurred at the Kampong Katok ‘A’ on March 29. A team of firefighters in three fire engines from the Beribi Fire Station rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call from the public.
The firefighters had to overcome the hilly terrain and thick vegetation to fight the fire. To control the blaze, they surrounded several sections of the burnt forest and extinguished the fire using several jets of water. They managed to fully extinguish the fire at 8pm.
Several similar forest fires were also reported near the Tungku BioInnovation Corridor and the Lambak Kanan area.
