Fire guts 25 tin-shed houses

Some 25 tin-shed houses were gutted in a fire in Old Dhaka yesterday, leaving over 200 people homeless.
“The blaze broke out in a house on JN Shaha Road under Lalbagh Police Station around 8:30am and soon spread through the area damaging 25 houses,” said Fire Service and Civil Defence Station Officer Shahjadi Sultana.
She said three units of fire fighters battled to extinguish the blaze, which originated from an electric short circuit, for about two hours.
No casualties were reported.
