Fire at ‘Eastern Plaza’ in Hatirpool

A fire broke out on the ground floor of the shopping centre ‘Eastern Plaza’ in the capital’s Hatirpool area.
Fire Service control room official Shahzadi Sultana said the shopping centre’s escalator on the ground floor caught fire around 2pm on Tuesday.
Fire service deployed five units which tamed the blaze in 40 minutes, she said.
However, the source of the fire could not be identified instantly.
No casualties were reported so far.
