Samal fire destroys P2.75 million in property

Some P2.75 million in property was destroyed in a fire that hit the Island Garden City of Samal last Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday.
In its report, the NDRRMC said the fire started at about 1:35 p.m. at Purok 3 in Poblacion Peñaplata.
No one was initially reported injured, the NDRRMC said.
Power was restored at about 5 p.m. after power went out on the entire island.
Authorities are still determining what caused the fire.
