Fire breaks out at Amaris budget hotel in Tebet

A fire broke out at the Amaris budget hotel on Jl. Soepomo in Tebet, South Jakarta, on Monday.
Ichsan, a South Jakarta Fire Department firefighter, said the blaze at the hotel, which is managed by the Santika hotel chain, started at 8:10 a.m.
“Five fire engines were deployed to the incident site,” Ichsan said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He said the fire originated on the fifth floor, from where smoke billowed out of a window.
No fatalities were reported as of early afternoon, when firefighters were still busy extinguishing the fire. (hhr)
