Fire hits mosque, several houses in Pagadian City

A fire of still undetermined origin destroyed several houses in Barangay San Pedro in Pagadian City on Monday noon.
The fire also spread to a nearby mosque and a school, GMA News stringer Aude Hampong reported.
Initial investigation showed the fire started about noon, with residents scrambling to save their belongings.
Even residents from nearby barangays also tried to save their belongings as they feared the fire would spread to their houses.
Investigators are verifying information the fire started at a school near a mosque.
The fire spread quickly as many of the houses there were made of light materials.
Firefighters had a hard time containing the fire due to the narrow and crowded streets, and residents trying to get back to their houses to get their belongings.
No one was initially reported injured in the fire.
