60-year-old Kalabagan gas leak fire victim dies

A 60-year-old woman has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burn unit, four days after sustaining burn injuries in a fire caused by leakage in a gas pipeline in Kalabagan.
Mamtaz Begum passed away around 1am on Thursday, Mozammel Haque, sub-inspector of the police outpost at the hospital, told bdnews24.com.
Six other members of Mamtaz’s family were injured in Saturday’s blaze at her tin-shed residence at 29 Lake Circus.
Her son Mohammad Sumon, 28, his wife Reshma Akter, 22, son ‘Rabbi’, 10, and nephews ‘Ayon’, 20, and ‘Bithi’, 14 are undergoing treatment at the burn unit.
