Firefighters Involved In Mammoth Task To Douse Carpet Factory Fire

NILAI, June 25 (Bernama) — Despite efforts by the Fire and Rescue Department, fire that engulfed the Prima Carpet factory in Nilai 3, Seremban, since 6.30pm yesterday, continues to burn.
State Fire and Rescue department director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said 78 firefighters from seven fire and rescue stations are involved in the operation to douse the fire for almost 18 hours.
“The fire has been brought under control at about 11am today but since there are carpets stored at a height, small fires continue to pop up from time to time and we are working on putting them out,” he told Bernama today.
He said the fire was believed to have started from the store but no casualties were reported.
“The cause of fire and estimated losses can only be investigated after the fire is fully extinguished,” he said.
Apart from the seven Fire and Rescue stations involved from Nilai, Mantin, Seremban, Seremban 2, Senawang, Jalan Hang Tuah and Bangi, voluntary fire fighters from Kepong and Pelagong, Labu were also involved in the operation.
