Cheese factory catches fire, property worth Rs 4.5 million gutted

DHANKUTA: Property worth around Rs 4.5 million was gutted after a cheese factory caught fire at Parewadin-6 in Dhankuta on Tuesday night.
Dambar Bahadur Khadka, Spokesperson of Dhankuta Police Station, said that clothes, foodstuffs, machines and other goods were destroyed in the fire.
The fire started at around 7:00 pm was doused with the help of police personnel, locals and a fire engine brought from Dhankuta Municipality after one-and-a-half hour.
Kashinath Niraula of Dhankuta Municipality-12 had been running the factory at the house of Shiva Kumar Shrestha.
The house was also completely destroyed in the fire.
The cause behind the fire was electric short circuit.
