Panic in Khuldabad area after car catches fire

ALLAHABAD: Panic gripped Lukerganj flyover and adjoining areas under Khuldabad police station on Monday afternoon after an LPG-run car caught fire. However, no one was injured in the incident.
Police from two police stations along with fire extinguishers rushed the spot to douse the flames. The car was completely reduced into ashes.
Inspector, Khuldabad told TOI “we have been trying to ascertain the cause of fire breaking”. He added that the driver of the has managed to escape from the scene before police team and fire extinguishers could reach on spot”.
He further added that the ill fated car might catch fire due to gas leakage.
On lookers told police the car, all of a sudden, caught fire leaving road users in a fix.
The driver, somehow, managed to come out from the burning car and escaped from the scene. The police on arrival stopped the traffic movement on the flyover and deployed one fire extinguisher to douse the flames.
The police have been trying to know about the owner of the car as well as whether the car had valid LPG kit or not. This was the second incident reported within a short span of three months in the city.
