CRPF man killed in fire at office building in Delhi

A head constable died after a fire broke out in a CRPF building in RK Puram sector 1 on Friday night. Officials said that 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took around an hour to douse the flames.
According to police, the victim, Lingam Gauda, was sleeping at the time of the incident. Prima facie, it seems he suffocated to death, police said.
Fire officials found the body under a computer table in the record room.
The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Electronic Data Processing centre of the force that is located in the training directorate office. The EDP centre deals with record management of pay and other emoluments of the force, police said.
Gauda, who was stationed on the fourth floor, allegedly raised an alarm when the fire broke out, police said.
He called up a guard posted at the building informing him of the fire, who then made a PCR call. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
