Mattress Factory Razed In Chembong

REMBAU, Aug 28 (Bernama) — A factory producing mattresses in the Chembong industrial area near here was destroyed in a fire tonight.
The incident which occurred at around 7.15pm burned the factory building, its equipment and machinery as well as three lorries.
However, there were no casualties reported.
Assistant director of the Operations Division in the Negeri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 7.21pm before a team of six personnel and a fire-engine from the Rembau Fire and Rescue station was rushed to the scene.
“Another two fire-engines with 18 members from the fire and rescue departments in Senawang and Tampin were also deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire.
“When firemen arrived (at the scene), the fire was blazing and we managed to control the fire within 10 minutes before it was doused within an hour,” he said when met at the scene.
He said the cause and actual amount of losses incurred was still under investigation.
