Fire guts 8 schoolbuses in Bengaluru

Eight schoolbuses parked near Delhi Public School, near Yelachenahalli, Kanakapura Road, south Bengaluru, were partially gutted in an accidental fire at 7pm on Wednesday.
Fire fighters from Banashankari, Jayanagar, Anjanapura and Electronics City rushed to the spot, though slowed down by peak-hour traffic. The Banashankari team reached first, and the fire was completely doused by 8pm.
Mansoor Ali Khan, chairman, Delhi Public Schools, said 70 buses were stationed in the parking bay. “Locals and security guards noticed the fire and raised an alarm. Two of our schoolbuses were damaged. Other buses belonged to nearby schools,” he said.
