Almost Half Of Tatau Longhouse Destroyed By Fire

SIBU, Oct 9 (Bernama) — Ten of the 21 doors of a longhouse in Nanga Rungan in Tatau, Bintulu were razed in a fire early today.
According to Fire and Rescue officer, Azrel Izadi Ahmad, the station received a call at 2.33 am.
However as the longhouse, Rumah Michael Cina could only be reached by river and plantation road 80km away, the station could not send its team to put out the fire.
Three personnel could only take a boat at 8 am and reached the location at 12 noon today.
The cause of fire is being investigated.
