Fire destroys godown in Govindnagar

Property worth lakhs was reduced to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out in an electronics godown in Govindnagar on Tuesday.
Half-a-dozen fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames. “The fire may have been caused by a short-circuit,” a fire official said.
The main portion of the godown and some adjoining structures were destroyed.
The stock of electronic material was damaged. The fire brigade sources claimed that the blaze was brought under control after three to four hours. “The fire broke out during the wee hours and there was no rush in the area,” a fire official said.
