8 charred to death in Kurla fire

Eight persons were charred to death after a fire broke out on the mezzanine floor of an eatery in Kurla West on Friday afternoon. Police believe either a short circuit or leakage in a cooking gas cylinder fuelled the fire.
Hotel Kinara stands bang opposite Holy Cross School in Kurla West and is run by one Hegde. Police said all the eight dead were charred to death and the bodies were beyond recognition. All the dead were taken to Rajawadi Hospital. ACP Srirang Nadgowda, who visited the spot, said most of dead were employees of the nearby Kohinoor Mall in Kurla West.
