Fire in UPPCL head office

Fire broke out in the UP Power Corporation Limited ( UPPCL ) headquarters Shakti Bhawan on Sunday afternoon. No casualties or major damage to property was reported.
According to reports the room number 803 situated on the second floor of UPPCL extension caught fire. Sources said that there was a short circuit in the air conditioner. Being a Sunday there was no one in the office.
UPPCL managing director AP Mishra said that the cause of fire was being ascertained. But prima facie it was the result of negligence on the part of staff who left the AC switched on apparently on Saturday, Mishra said.
The MD claimed that there was no damage to the records or any important papers.
