Major fire at Seawoods Estate tower in Nerul

A major fire broke out in an 18-floor tall tower in the posh Seawoods Estate complex in Nerul on Wednesday night. Navi Mumbai fire brigade officials informed that the fire started in one of the top floors of tower number 52, in the Phase-2 of Seawoods Complex a little before 8.30 pm.
Fortunately though, all the building residents have managed to rush down to safety. Fire fighting is currently on at the site.
Firefighters are reportedly using telescopic ladders to extinguish the flames which are now slowly spreading downwards.
“We think that the fire started in the penthouse of the tower. Due to the great height, it is rather difficult for the pressurized water hoses to reach there, but the firemen are doing their best in this situation,” said a resident of Seawoods Estate.
