Commercial complex in Karelibaug damaged by fire

A major fire broke out in a commercial complex in Karelibaug here on Friday night. A short circuit had caused the fire at Ranchod Complex located near Ambalal Park Society at around 9.15 pm. However, there were no casualties in the fire that engulfed the three-storeyed building that had several offices and shops.
“The offices and the shops at the complex had shut after 6 pm and hence nobody was present when the fire broke out in the building,” said Karelibaug corporator Manoj Patel.
At least eight fire vehicles helped douse the fire. “The exact cause of the fire is unknown though locals attributed it to a short circuit. The building has suffered major damage in the fire,” chief fire officer Deepak Gunjal said.
