One of three persons injured in a gas supply line explosion in the capital’s Wari area on Friday has died.
Alamgir Hossain, 62, succumbed to his burns at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) early on Saturday, said Partha Shankar Paul, resident doctor of the hospital’s burn unit.
“He was severely burnt. His wife Hosne Ara , 48, and their daughter Shamsila Alam Tropee, 19, are being treated for grave injuries,” he told bdnews24.com.
The three sustained burns when a gas supply line exploded in their second-floor apartment in a five-storey building in Rathkhola More on Thursday night.
Fire fighters doused the flames and took the injured to DMCH.
The impact of the explosion tore out a portion of the apartment wall, which fell on a nearby tin-shed house, injuring four others, Officer-in-Charge Zehad Hossain of Wari Police Station said.
