Old woman’s death due to fire: Police awaiting FSL report

Police have yet to receive primary report of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in connection with the fire in Siddha Chakra apartment in City Light area where an 87-year-old woman was charred to death Tuesday morning.
M N Katara, police sub-inspector of Umra police said, “We are awaiting the report from FSL which is likely in a day or two. Investigations will follow once the report is received.”
As of now, police have registered a case of accidental death. Chandanben Doshi, who lived with her grandson’s family on the 5th floor of Siddha Chakra apartment near Sargam Shopping centre, was charred to death on Tuesday morning following mysterious fire in the apartment when she was alone there.
Diamond trader Parin Doshi’s wife Ami had gone to drop her son to school when the fire broke out.
