Goods gutted in fire at doc’s house

Goods worth several lakh of rupees were gutted when fire erupted at the double-storey house of Dr SPS Chauhan at Darbhanga area under George Town police station here on Saturday. A least four fire tenders took over half-an-hour to douse the fire which engulfed the entire house. Short circuit is said to be reason behind the fire.
According to the reports, Dr Chauhan, a former faculty at MLN Medical College was present with his wife when he saw smoke bellowing out from the first floor of the house. Before he could call for help the fire spread.
