Loan dept of pvt bank gutted in fire

The loan department of a leading private bank was gutted in a freak fire at a commercial complex on Jawahar Road on Monday midnight. Nobody was injured in the accident as the building was empty.
Fire officials said that the fire on the third floor of the Panchratna building near Alfred High School was caused due to a short-circuit in the electric wires at the office of HDFC Bank’s loan department.
According to office manager Niraj Pandya, their back office was gutted in the fire and all documents, servers, computers with records of clients as well as other physical documents were destroyed.
It took over five hours for five fire fighters to douse the fire. The entire third floor was damaged in the fire. A complaint was registered with the police who are investigating the case further.
