Fire breaks out in plastics godown

Goods worth lakhs were gutted in a fire that broke out in a plastic godown in Kapiraj Industrial Estate in Chhani late on Monday night.
The fire that broke out in the godown of Shreenathji Enterprise soon spread to adjoining Ganesh Cashew Industry.
According to fire officials, the blaze was doused in about 30 minutes and there was no casualty at the sites. A short ciruit in the godown is suspected to be the cause of the fire.
“The plastic stacked inside the godown led to thick smoke in the vicinity of the company. We doused the fire using two water bowsers. No one was injured in the fire,” said fire officer Om Jadeja.
Jadeja said swift action averted more damage as the fire had reached a compressor near Ganesh Cashew Industry where LPG cylinders were stored.
